Recalling DA George Gascon

Posted on Feb 19th, 2021 by 2007 Views

Are you currently familiar with the recall effort regarding DA George Gascon? In our latest blog article, we’ve put together facts concerning the latest developments of the matter, as well as the convenient link for you to help contribute to his recall effort.

It goes without saying how appalled and distraught members of the community and the entire State of California are about DA George Gascon's latest lawless bail policy. In fact, the public has already previously rejected the very same "no-bail" policy that DA Gascon has instituted.

Unfortunately, DA Gascon has no supervisor and he is not subject to being "fired," despite public belief. That is how and why this recall effort has come into effect.

To simply, DA Gascon believes that taking the bail option away would somehow ensure public safety. Yet, in contrast, the United States Constitution plainly states that the primary object of the bail system is to guarantee accountability. Therefore, how does having no bail—which DA Gascon is fighting for—automatically make the public a safe place? It doesn’t.

To make matters even worse, fewer and fewer judges are actually issuing bail orders as DA Gascon’s influence and retaliation continue to unfold. Further, it is a deep fear that what is taking place in Los Angeles County is only the beginning. How long before a Gascon-like prosecutor comes to your town will this very same agenda?

DA Gascon's agenda is dangerous for myriad reasons, specifically because the law concerning bail is quite clear: bail is required. The right to bail is within California's statutes and the United States Constitution. Except, DA Gascon has demonstrated that if he doesn't like a law (like the law concerning bail), then he will just ignore it.

Case in point: Recently, Judge Chalfant ordered DA Gascon to stop breaking the law. In addition, Judge Chalfant ordered DA Gascon to start enforcing second and third strike sentencing laws, as well as retain other sentencing enhancements. Lastly, DA Gascon was ordered to stop making unethical and immoral orders to his Deputy District Attorneys.

There is a simple solution to DA Gascon’s unfair, unjust, lawless bail policy: recall DA Gascon!

To effectively put this plan into motion, the team in favor of recalling  DA George Gascon (Team Recall George Gascon, RGG) has hired a political team, including lawyers, accountants, and PR professionals, to deliver a strategy that includes serving DA Gascon with a notice of a recall on March 8 and collecting 600,000 signatures beginning in April. The total amount of signatures must be completed by September.

The February 2022 election will exclusively decide whether DA Gascon retains his DA office. There will be nothing else on the ballot, and the voters that do turn out will be highly informed.

To help ensure the recall plan moves forward smoothly, a fundraiser has been established, with the goal set at $38,000. This money will be used to conduct sophisticated polling in Los Angeles County, as well as pinpoint precise marketing and political issues.
